It kind of is church camp, but that works for some people.
So why is he going to liberty? We'll frankly because Liberty is a means to an end... He's hoping the pluses of the program outweigh the negatives of the school. And he tried that real college thing once and ended up in the Navy.
Theres at least one book about life as a student at Liberty written by someone who didn't drink the koolaide. Recommend you read it to help get a balanced prospective on the school.
Call me weird but the whole "experience" that some people want isn't what other people want. Tbh, a 2AM curfew is not that bad for me. (finals weeks don't have curfews either) I am a little religious, yes. I will admit. I would gladly read the book if you provide a link to it.
I know several friends that go there and they are similar to me. They all come from upper-middle-class families, no drinking/partying, minimal swearing, much like me.
LU isn't for everyone, it just fit for me. I hear Pensacola Christian has an aviation program (if you can stand walking on separate sidewalks from the other sex). Lots of different schools out there, just don't screw yourself over. :-P
