I totally agree with your the beginning of your post. Flown with many who've had the same problem. We need a system that banks/pays unused sick so you can use it when you really get sick. Absolutely. Unused sick leave needs to go into a bank so you can use it when the big stuff comes along. Almost everyone goes out for at least a few months as they get older. Accidents, surgery, injuries, cancer, heart attacks....all of these things could last for months, if not years. I know people who have barely used their banks for many years, one major event happens, and at least they can stay on full pay for a long time to cover it. This one is worth fighting for.
