Now that the rate reset is done and supposedly postive it would probably be a good idea to bring on a limited amount of new airplanes. I believe we have a chicken or the egg problem here. If they announce more airplanes we would probably get new hires, but they aren't willing to take those new airplanes because they are afraid that the new hires wont come.
Before LOA 15 we probably would not have gotten the new hires even if we got new airplanes. Our new hire pay was one of the lowest in the industry and our upgrade time still would have been at least 3 or 4 years. Now that new hire pay is 37 for the 200 and 40 for the 70/90, I think that if they announnced growth we would be able to get the new hires.
Again this is all just opinion. I hope something good happens. I'm coming up on 4 years here and have no desire to go to another regional to get PIC time. I've already done the lateral move thing once, I'm not going to do it again.
