Sixteen years ago while interviewing at NWA I was asked the hat question.

I asked the interviewer if everything else about his uniform was correct. He said yes. I asked again, so everything about his uniform is fine he's just not wearing his hat?? The interviewer said yes. I replied, "Then I wouldn't say anything about the hat."

As soon as the sentence left my mouth I thought to myself that probably was not the answer he was hoping to hear. I was hired despite my answer. I can imagine the discussion that went on after I left the room was something along the lines of, "at least that guy is honest."
