Default Delta Global Services (DGS) Sim Instructor?

Hey Everyone,

I'm a guy in my mid-forties with a pretty well-rounded background in Part 121 ops, corporate, Part 135, and general aviation flying. I have about 6000 hours TT, mostly 121 PIC in 50 and 70 seat RJ's. But THEN, health problems reared their ugly head and have kept me from pretty much any work, let alone flying for about the last 5 years.

I'm finally healthy again overall and ready to go back to some sort of aviation career, but I have two issues. First is that I may not be able to get my medical back, maybe permanently, maybe not, but certainly not for the time being. Secondly, I don't have any sort of currency, so I don't think any major would hire me right now anyway, even if I was applying...

On the bright side, I have discovered that places like FlightSafety really need sim instructors and are much more interested in my overall background, and aren't concerned about flight currency or not having my Class 1 medical. They seem VERY interesed... (I was an I.P. at my old airline, taught in sims and the plane, line checks, etc.)

**ALSO, I have heard that DGS (Delta Global Serivces) is having similar problems hiring/keeping sim instructors. (This would be the side that ISN'T from the flying/seniority list – just a DGS contract sim instructor position.) I am about to apply with them, but without really knowing anybody working there, I don't know the likelihood of getting that job, or what the job's real positives and negatives are . Does anyone here have any direct, inside info on this job and might be willing to PM me? I have always found that direct contact with somebody on the “inside” of any company is really helpful with information that isn't readily available from the “outside”.

I could really use the help! Thank you.
