1) Would you recommend taking out loans up the wazoo (talking above 90,000) and paying it off? any life stories or tips people want to share on that?
2) Does anyone know of any scholarships out there besides the well known ones (any under-the-radar scholarships)?
3) Does anyone have any other ideas on how to afford school?

Check out the University of North Dakota. Only takes 6 or 12 months to get residency, (tuition way cheaper). You won't pay 90K for a degree and all of your ratings through CFII. I financed all of my college with stafford loans, pell grants and a few scholarships here and there. I realize it isn't sunny FL, but you have to decide what you want, a school for the sake of where it is, or a school that will offer you a good degree (something other than aviation) and be able to finance your flying for about the same price as a 61 school.
