#2 because I dropped a seat belt and broke the screen on #1. For me it's way better than an IPad. They are so proprietary and totally worthless. No way to file transfer except through iTunes. No USB support. With an IPad I'd have to carry a laptop too. Much prefer the Surface. Very excited about the 3.
