You'll get positive space on United/Delta. Both sides differ on exactly when they'll give you positive space during training. Hotel is paid and they will drive you to and from.

If I am not mistaken, it starts when you finish IOE, since you're still consider "Pilot in training." However, you do get per deim during IOE. Correct me if j am wrong. That was my case.
ASA is when you start IOE. XJT is when you finish your qualifying sim checkride.
