New to the forum. The new hire hate brought me here. Anyone considering Envoy dont be detered from this forum. Anyone considering Envoy has either never been in the general aviation field the last 2 years or has no idea about the pilot shortage in the country. Coming from flight training and general aviation there is zero pilots.... Flight schools offer up to 5,000 dollars and give free ratings just to get pilots. The aviation industry now is different than it ever has been and no pilots at Envoy with seniority greater than 3 years have any idea... Or they wouldnt be on here complaining new hires can choose what they want.
On this forum if you choose the jet under wing time, the shiny new jet, or hope to come to Envoy for a flow your unintelligent. Most people on this forum want you to take the 145 or the crj and take reserve because thats what they had to endure. If they had to endure 12-15 months on reserve 3 plus years ago, you need at least 16 months reserve to make it fair to them. They dont want your QOL to be any better than theres ever was as thats not "fair".
Look at any other regional and think if youll better than Envoy.
Compass has a wild card on 20 of their 175's they dont own or have a garunteed contract on past next year. Ex-jet see above comment about compass not owning the airplanes and see today how anyone on the 145 side in DFW has to move to IAH, plus wait 7 years for an upgrade there, and they are also owned by another regional. Then theres Mesa... Well Mesa is Mesa and there too many negatives to list and everyone has a good Mesa story. Horizon Skywest both solid companies with growth. Republic... Know a lot of guys there and if people scare you about our work rules here look at their work rules. Plus their in bankruptcy so theres that. PSA, Piedmont, and Envoy, if your new to the regional a great option like skywest and horizon. In the time since ive been hired in the shiny new jet syndrome airplane, the company has increased the sign on bonus from 5k to 15k, and back dated it to all other new hires hired this year. Extended the FO retention bonus to all those who didnt previously recieve it. ( Yea as a new hire you wont recieve it, but again coming from the GA industry or any other industry you know theres absolutely no pilots and they will extend it again.) Pay rates at Envoy are terrible, yep but they will change, no way they would back pay a bonus to those on already on property unless they see just how bad the shortage is and they want to keep the new hires happy. Any new hire coming to any airline can choose whatever they want. The garuntee of 2.5 year upgrade 6 year flow at Envoy?. Na prolly never gonna happen, all those disgruntled employees at Envoy are gonna stay because they cant get hired anywhere else because of their attitude. I went to Envoy not for the money, or the chance of a upgrade etc, I came because in my back pocket I have a ticket to one of the majors, and can apply to any other or llc airline all day until I get hired. I got hired into a new airplane, again could choose whatever I wanted and you will hear the anger on here as I and other new hires didnt choose the airplane with terrible QOL. On this forum you will see the flow is snake oil. Make your own decision about it. There is a flow, theres also zero pilots, there probably stands a reason AAG wants a flow for the future regardless what it is today or what it was for the Envoy pilots hired 3-7 years ago when there was an abundance of pilots.
If they offered the 145 and or crj in dfw with as good as QOL as the 175 any new hire would take it. Any new hire who hears the anger on here just remember they want you to have a harder, longer, tougher road than they had. The fact the regional industry is in the gutter and you can get whatever you want as a new regional pilot now infuriates them. Come to Envoy or go to another regional, and get the most you can out of it you can.
