Yes, but most of that is out of your control. The company is very good at scheduling 11 hour and 55 minute days. In 16 months I haven't come close to an after midnight, but that is because I live in a base that it is way too easy to get me home to. If you live in Podunk, America, you might have better luck with that. As a new hire, your seniority will allow you very little control over your bid to try to work holidays or not. I occasionally work a holiday, but otherwise almost all of my OT comes from starting early on day one.

Interesting stuff. Are they pretty good about getting you home at a descent time on our last day or is that a moving target? So what is the extra pay for starting early on day one? And then I guess the over looming question. Does anyone realistically know what the upgrade time really actually is there? I've heard anywhere from 7-20 years. That a wide gerth there of opinions.
