DHL and Amazon will get good service from the contractors because the contractors know that if they don't perform they will be replaced. Same goes for the majority of the contractor pilots. They know not to bite the hands that feed them (DHL and Amazon).
You are sadly out of touch. Pilots at all the DHL carriers are ready to strike and start over if need be to raise the bar. The industry has changed. I'm glad you will work for less, but the large majority of your coworkers won't. I'm not a low cost pilot and either are my hard working brothers/sisters at Kalitta, ABX, or Southern. I'll walk with them, they'll walk with me. You can walk solo on this one.
