This is and always will be a little B.S. airline. Everything that we do will be, and Bob is right, low tier to everyone else except probably Allegiant. I expect jetBlue +5% or so on the numbers with a compromise on transition. But NK will never lead the pack and that's OK. We aren't Delta, American, or United. And most of our pilots couldn't get hired at those three and Miramar knows that. There are advantages here that suit some people and right now it does me. But I won't commute for this 'let's drive to Long Beach, the Galleria, and Livonia to save a buck airline' if they close DFW. I'll put my stuff out, as everyone should, and if I get a better offer I'll take it.
I'm not married to NK and it doesn't define who I am. I fly for money and have to balance that against time at home and QOL at both home and on the road. The second another outfit tips the scale I'm gone. Simple as that.
You have just over a year here. I cant imagine why you wouldnt be actively looking for a new gig. You're 4+ years out probably for upgrade and who knows what DFW will look like by then.
I doubt there are many here at Spirit that are "defined" by this airline and flying for money and QOL isn't unique to just yourself.
You seemed to hate this airline before you even applied here, so I cant imagine you enjoying it more if youre still sitting right seat in 4 years. Wish you luck in finding something that makes you happy.
