Ended up with a 320 with the "-A1" engines flying ATL-BZN-ATL a few weeks ago. It was fine getting out there, but let's just say 31 people bought off later and we finally could leave for ATL.
I have never understood, even back to NW days, why the -A1 fleet wasn't handled as a sub-fleet to prevent those weaklings from flying into challenging airports. Somebody, somewhere must have determined we still make more $ by treating the 320 fleet as one, versus two to operate akin to airport performance.
