For what it's worth, thanks to some crew room shenanigans performed by a CA, who is to remain nameless, I had an opportunity to fly the last leg of a trip with Paul Hocking a few weeks back. I asked him about the the San Jose rumor, and he said that that was one of 5 that the board, or whomever makes such decisions, was choosing from. Also among the 5 are SAN, LAS, SFO and LAX. Or as I promised him I would word this "SAN is a sure thing in 2017!" In truth, he said "they are all bad options, SAN is probably not the best bad option."

He gave me no reason to believe that there was any NDA issues with this information.
