In addition to the 7/7 schedule, we have the CC52, CC60, CC72, and CC76 schedules. The CC refers to Crew Choice and the number refers to the number of days that you will work in a four month period. The year is divided in three 4 month blocks, October-January; February-May; June - September. The company can borrow up to 2 days from one month to move to another month in that period, as long as the total adds up to the CC number that you are on. This means that on the CC 72, you will work between 16 and 20 days a month as long as the total for that period adds up to 72. You have no control over which months are heavy or light. Everyone starts on the training schedule which is equivalent to the CC72. You will have the ability to move to another schedule on the next bid period after training is complete or possibly earlier at the discretion of the company.

All of the CC schedules are bid in advance and are awarded by the 15th of the month prior. I found the bid process to be of not much value and the company pretty much just gives you the schedule that they want you to have. YMMV I like the 7/7 for the long term planning ability.

The October bid period is a flush bid and everyone rebids their schedules based on seniority. The other two bid periods, you bid for what schedules are available. As a new hire on the 7/7, be prepared to change start days every October.
