I asked this question to an ATL CP because my wife is also pregnant and he basically said they would work with you to drop the trips if you are not able to bid around them or swap them out. At no point are they required to pay you for any dropped work. This applies to both men and women pilots. Fortunately, I have been able to bid around Central America, the Caribbean, et al, even while being moderately junior on the 73N. I haven't been out of the country in several months but now I have to keep my eye on FL, too.
