1) I looked up the g4pilots site. Are there really less than 10 FOs in both AVL and PIT? or is that just a sampling listed on the website.
2) What are estimated reserve and upgrade times in those two domiciles? (general swag, yes I know it can change tomorrow and YMMV)
3) What is the general QOL and pilot morale in those two domiciles?

Thanks!
Hi akulahunter... I'm PIT based. Here's my .02 Yes AVL and PIT are very small bases, smallest in the system. PIT is currently 1 airplane, AVL is 2. PIT is slated to get it's 2nd airbus November(ish) of this year, AVL is Md-80's converting over to the airbus towards the end of 2017 (I believe). I haven't heard of any specific expansion plans for AVL... PIT is rumored to keep growing, possibly adding a 3rd and 4th airplane in the next year or two (very much a speculative statement). PIT is extremely junior at the moment. There is not a single captain in our company who lives here, so captains are constantly cycling in and out. That said, almost all the FO's here (6 at the moment), live in/near the area and plan on staying; and I'm told that some of the recent new hires live in PIT as well and will be based here. I predict that just like all the other bases, it won't take long before it fills up with guys that live locally. And once that happens (especially on the captain side), and if they stop growing the base, it's anyone's guess as to how long the upgrade might be. As of now... I was an Aug 24, 2015 hire and I would think I'd be upgrading sometime towards the end of '17 or early '18, but there's very little growth in the company at the moment, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's very few upgrade classes in the next 12 months. AVL... I have no idea, but it's fairly junior on the FO side. QOL is fine here in PIT, as long as you live in base, if you don't, it's terrible. Small bases offer very few options in terms of bidding. We only have 1 or 2 flights a day here, sometimes none. The number 1 and 2 guy can get decent schedules, everyone else gets hosed. But again... it doesn't burn quite as much as long as you live in base. I was number 3 for quite some time in PIT, I bid mixed lines (some flying some reserve) and averaged 85-90 credit hrs a month and 8 days of flying, and 1 trip pick up on a day off. I was/am home ALL the time. Pilot morale is good for FO's as far as I can tell. Captains... We've had so many come through, it's run the gamut. But just judging from our contract vote, morale is certainly looking up.

If you're considering allegiant and plan on living in one of our bases, it's a no brainer man... best airline job in the US (my opinion, and subject to change).
