Just spoke with the union. To clarify. LTD does NOT kick in until 365 days after disability. Period. If you are disabled you have to cover your obligations out of pocket until a year passes. I thought it was 90 days but that was a typo. Something to make sure we have in the new CBA
This has to be a misunderstanding. It clearly says "365 days of consecutive employment" and is referring to an initial waiting period from date of hire for eligibility for disability benefits. The 365 days is not a waiting period from the time of disability to the time of benefit receipt.
