I would avoid polarized sunglasses. I bought a polarized pair and it turned the sky purple when I looked out the window in the CRJ.
Now, I wear Oakley Gold Iridium lenses. They are amber in color and really bring in the light but block the harmful rays. I'd also say they can get you an another 1/4 mile visibility as well...but you can't reduce your approach mins by that factor.
