This is all very simple. All but 7 or so of our UA 700s are going away and are being - partially - replaced by 175. If you look at the UA 10K you can figure out that pretty much all capacity up to the scope limit is spoken for.
UA has chosen Mesa for IAH. So there may be the eventual flow through from one of our other bases. But don't expect to see many 700's in UA colors by end of next year. And unless IAH will become a 175 base I don't see a scenario where it remains open.
On that note, do not expect to see much of our 700 capacity to resurface elsewhere. yes, some DL 700s are being replaced with of contract UA 700s but that is a left pocket right pocket game. Our overall 700 fleet will go down. For reference, look at our last two earning calls and the one time write off we took for early lease terminations. That's for 700s that we wish to place but apparently are not confident enough in so that we had to take a hit under SEC rules.
