I think the real point is if you are in a hurry apply off the street and try your chances at a non SSP CJO. Before someone says a CJO is a CJO (it's not). They may generally mean the same things but the Conditions are entirely unique. Even the conditions between a Captain SSP CJO and a First Officer SSP CJO are different. So in order of priority.
Off the street CJO (most competitive candidates)
Captain SSP CJO
First Officer CJO
The trade off for waiting a few extra months or in some cases an extra year is the fact that you got an interview that may never have come. I realize many pilots think they know what is best for Delta when it comes to who they are hiring, you don't. This is Delta's choice and you can see from many of the young guys getting hired it takes more than flight time.
