I think the problem lies in ones inability to separate the people from the politics. You can disagree with the conflict de jour without disrespecting those who have sworn to serve. The POTUS and his/her cabinet aren't out in cafes/grocery stores etc where people can air their disagreements directly. Often the sneers/comments one in uniform might get are misguided (like the comment(s)I received in uniform yesterday from passengers waiting for cabs and ****ed at Delta Airlines for the cancellations). They just see a uniform and that uniform represents the grievance and they need to vent(as frustrating as that might be to those on the receiving end).
