Hey guys. Regional FO here likely getting ready to jump ship from my current employer. Received an announcement about major shrinkage and a possible closure of the base I am at and drive to (IAD). I won't commute for this company.
PDT was my original first choice a year ago. I interviewed and was offered the job but opted for an airline with a drivable base and went elsewhere instead. I have about 400 hours in the 145.
I've kept current following this thread and have read back several months, but have some questions.
What's the training footprint currently looking like? I know for a while new hires were waiting months to get to sims and/or OE.
When will street hires go to the 145?
What is reserve time looking like. If I come to PDT I would be doing a long commuting drive (3+ hours to philly) or would have to hop on an airplane out of DCA. I know I'll need a crash pad. Hopefully not for too long.
Have schedules improved at all? I know this used to be a hot topic on this thread. Are schedules at all commutable?
Any educated guesses as to when PDT will have to set up shop at a second hub base and any idea where it may be (I asked this question a few weeks ago on here.... Just curious if there are any new developments or rumors)?
Any other pertinent info for a potential new hire would be appreciated. I turned down PDT once... I don't think I'll do it a second time. Unless something miraculous happens and my IAD base is saved, looking forward to coming over.
