You'll get your base assignment during the monthly bid for which you fall in. Usually the vacancies are posted around the 1st(ish) and awards are made by the 20th. I would imagine the 8/15 class might have a chance to bid with us this time but the 9/19 class might have their own bid after we get what we want. The monthly bidding is new to us and there's some contractual language that dictates the way vacancies are posted now, I'd say you'll have some idea where you'll be within the first 2 weeks.

As far as moving days go, you'll have plenty of time to get organized after your type ride. Lots of time off these days... however, you will still get moving days per the contract.
