As a military guy in my first year of the transition, this post makes sense.
We're conditioned early to take the first offer you get (because we often have zero say in the matter) and suck it up for the duration, and often times we get our seeking stability in our home lives above all else. These factors can lead us to settle in a situation we're not totally happy with just because a company gave us a job offer and pays for our mortgage and car payment as often happened in the military. The big difference is instead of it being a 2-3 year stint at an job causing unhappiness in the military before your times is up and the next gig is on the horizon, it's 20-30 years at an airline.
