I agree, but that "other" plan doesnt have to be putside of aviation. There are many jobs flying airplanes other than airlines. People on her eare so into the airlines they forget about flying for the FAA, flying for law enforcement, teaching aviation in a university program and many others.

I read a recent article about a guy who does instrument approach calibration flights for the FAA across the country. He just shoots approaches and gets paid $100k+/yr.
There is something about putting all your eggs in one basket that scares me. I am glad I have at least 2 alternative careers, connections and experience to fall back on.
