Some want to fly, others are fine staying on reserve and not fly at all. But SGU doesn't care what the pilots want to do. I agree that they want to keep the reserves low so you have to call in and burn user time to get any time at home.

Now to finish my line and figure out how I am going to fit 48 hours of flying in with my 9 days of pre-assignments, since my line won't finish without awarding me 90 hours of flying. I just have to figure out which of our bases I fill like sitting in for 4 hours in between flights. Or figure out which trip I am going to bid that I will call in for to use what little user time I have left.

Another issue is... DVR had 8 openings in SFO for September. Most of those went to CRJ transitions. So it will take 2 months before the domicile actually gets the compliment it needs. Had 8 currently qualified guys got the award staffing would actually have improved. But half the original awards were transitions. After that several new hires were put in there but they are still on IOE so it seems to take several months to catch up coupled with we are taking planes each month. I'm afraid this is a cycle we may never catch up on with the amount of guys leaving. Who knows???
