There was an extraordinary amount of captains fired in the last five years. His case got the most publicity. I don’t think his law suit is aiming at reinstatement. I think it’s just a cash settlement, which he will probably get. I believe, management claimed he was not humble enough during his interrogation and did not agree with his actions. Hence he was terminated.

Now we have a contract that acts as a buffer by allowing us to mandate representation during any interrogations, I mean safety debriefings. And an arbitration process for any disciplinary action.
