If you are somehow twistingnanlessor contract into a better one because of current upgrade times, I think you are setting yourself up for more disappointment. Allegiant is not even in the ballpark of the other discussed carriers. Add in mx issues and the way pilots are treated and it sounds like an outright dumpster fire. I'm glad the early upgrade worked out for you, but consider upgrade times in overall compensation calculations is just promoting low pay.
Ok...so let's not even consider upgrading at an LCC. Allegiant's second year FO rate is still $2/hr more than Mesa's 20 year CA rate on the 175. Being stuck in the right seat at G4, home every night, and making anything better than first year pay beats the pants off of what we have here at Mesa. And that's not even getting into the finer points such as healthcare.
But of course I say this as someone who lives 10 minutes from G4's largest domicile and commutes to the lovely city of Houston for my current gig.
