I never had to justify going to Mesa, the job was a million times better than what I was doing at the time. The situation I am in today I could never predict would happen. Priorites change, needs change. Being locked into a career based on seniority is the worst thing I ever decided to do.
Is it too late to not be "locked into"? My encouragement, look for something additional where you are paid based on your value and merits. There is plenty of downtime with any flying work to build other opportunities. Why not have the best of both worlds?
