Hello crew scheduling this is the captain of flight 1792. I will need a meal break. I would say my first officer needs one but I don't want to be possessive and give the indication that I own him. So the professional who sits to my right only due to that fact that he got hired many years after me who does not out rank me and was previously called my FO, will call you because I don't want to speak for said individual and upset him thank you.
Really man I don't use it in a rude way. I fully respect "my crew" I use it in a way to say I will be looking out for "my crew" and take care of "my crew"
No I don't own you and I doubt anyone would use it in that sense.
I think you are being super sensitive here.
