One of the dumber posts I have seen. They ask for it for the same reason they ask for anything in the contract. MONEY! 10 to 30 million on one line item is significant. Taken in the context of hundreds of items like this it turns into big money even if they only get one out of ten.
Well they're not getting this one. They can't be trusted and contrary to your attempt to minimize the potential risks here, the fact is we don't know because they can get really creative with this after the fact.
Not to mention, an "officer's eat first" clause just isn't going to work with the troops. This is right up there with the NW CEO's "dumpster diving" pamphlet.
Line item veto this and move on. Total poison pill.
