One reason is they're hard to find. All the bus slots are taken for many years out.
So, naturally, rumors of another AC type start up.
AirTran did it, although it's arguable how successful they were.
It's entirely possible to the BOD finds more value for the shareholders by parting this place up and giving the planes and orders to others.
Just saying that it's not a forgone conclusion this we get more planes. Far from it.
