I flew a line check last week. I specifically asked the check airmen how the new guys were doing. He said he has seen no degradation in the quality of the candidate since the times were lowered. He did say that IOE and CUG OE were extended to 35 hours for both.
New hires are still averaging 5,500 hours. Yes, a few guys are lower time. I just had one on OE. Around 3,000 total time.
OE is being scheduled for 35 hours for upgrades and 30 for new hires. Not that it's far from 35 for both.
