See the irony in this situation? In my estimation, the best thing financially we can do as a pilot group is....

1. Up the pressure on the company i.e. strike vote, picketing, strike center, newspaper adds, stop volunteering for free job fairs.
2. We need to all be updating our apps, nothing better than the sound of 20-30 PRIA requests hitting the fax machine each month.
3. We need to have a certain level of realism to what we can expect to get. Thanks to the RLA, ALPA, and the overall love for flying that every pilot has, the game is supper rigged in their favor. I'm not saying we roll over. I'm just saying financially it will cost all of us a lot more money in delaying negotiations by holding out under the false notion that we can keep all our work rules and get United plus 1.

3) partially agree. No doubt our NC will try to negotiate United +1 and we keep our work rules (as they should be), but I think their bottom line is less than that. They know the value of money/time, but we DO have a minimum. And I can guarantee you that our minimum (to pass a vote) is reasonable. As I proved earlier it would not even slow this train down since we could be profitable at United +10%. However our minimum MUST go up as time passes. It also must go up with each new TA. I don't consider this as "delaying negotiations". Managements refusal to negotiate in good faith is a better example of delaying negotiations. The whole thing of negotiations with Jyri was a stall tactic. Of course Jyri couldn't stall us forever. If that is the road that our management wants to take than so be it. My price keeps going up.

Agreed. to both of you

All of the discussion about what the company is able to pay is a waste of time. Discussing how we can gain a raise is a good use of our time.
We're going to get the raise by standing up to the man, not because they have any extra cash. But, we all have to participate, leaders have to lead.
