Requal is different than requirement for the full course. I believe you can requal on a piece of equipment if you have been on it up to the previous 1 year. Outside of that, need the full course.
You need a full course when going from the 747 to 777. Granted, a Boeing is a Boeing, is a Boeing. Should be able to sleep through much of it. The only short course I know is the 777 to 787. Don't know about the other way.
Also, as far as I know, the first time anyone is going to fly a 777-300er, will be with people in it. Going to have fun trying to figure out how to land the sucker! Only a little on line differences--and the last CQDL already "Trained" us on how to use the video system to not run off a taxi way.
