I am truly glad that you have had good experiences
Things on the traiing side have gotten much better over the last few years, and especially with the newer cka. The issues I mentiond are more systemic than an indictment of ang individual, all of the truly difficult individuals are gone, at least from the -80 fleet.
The issues are not, entirely, and if you read their manuals, and then go to their training and listen to what they collectively teach, you will see that.
The comment on basic flying skills vs paint-by-number button pushing is still pretty accurate. A basic hand flown ILS is treated as a full on emergency, and encourage the NFP to "talk the FP through it", for example.
I will agree that no matter any of that, the instructors do genuinely want you to succeed and will work with anyone who is working to see that happen
