I'm not sure what you are seeing but most are quite eager and excited to be here. Their vision of United might be somewhat skewed from the way many of us view it but that's ok. I try to remember the way I was when I was hired. I liken it to a Lab puppy. Give them a couple years and wait till they are neutered by those above and they'll settle down just fine.
Aside from that, the 3% rule will always prevail.
