Life sucks, then you die. Only one guarantee in life, one life- live it.

In the end, everyone makes the best decision at the time. In the end, some win the lotto, some hit rock bottom, and many will follow with the tide. Rising tides tend to lift all.

That's enough of being morbid. All you can do is figure out your own situation, your own opportunities, and make the best of it. The idea of jumping regionals rarely works out to get to a major quicker. Keep eyes on the goal and execute. A guaranteed interview is simply a proving ground. If your mission (from a career standpoint) is to be at Delta, Endeavor gives you that chance. The interview, with prep and a background showing you are in the right mindset with execution, is not something to fear.

Going elsewhere only decreases the probability on Delta and further complicates the interview questions of "why did you leave XYZ". If you don't care what major you fly for, well, your situation is different, but you must analyze what you need to get the interview elsewhere. O, you need PIC time in a jet under 121? Well shop around, last I heard we have folks in new hire class who will be upgrading once they get 100 in type with the hours they walked in with. So yea, sorry, not a street captain, gotta wait a couple months (backhand to forehand screaming "o the humanity"). Make a goal, evaluate options, find your path, and execute.

For those who are newhires or potential newhires, it's not all about first year pay. It's a complete package with an end in mind. Where do you live? Will you move or commute? Will you need to be an FO for a while for time or will you be able to upgrade quickly? Do you want to upgrade quickly with QOL implications? Where do you want to end up? Now, what carrier gives you the best path based on above questions? Making more or less first year can be pointless if you can upgrade quickly and be on CA pay and getting pic time to where you want to be. View the full package. Too many folks talk about year 1 pay and don't look at their full outlook. Use your brain and think it all through.

Rant over.
