I tend to agree there was probably some fundamental differences between him and Hayes as the most logical explanation. Who else really has more pull than he does?
The word has always been re wide bodies that it has to pass Powers' desk and he pushes against the idea. Doubt it was just that. There are a whole host of parts moving and if he's not on board it's best that he leaves.
Re Frontier.....Whatever they were 10 years ago, it's a totally different animal right now. ULCC world. Just because it would make for an easier commute for some, I don't think that's sufficient reason to desire a merger with them.
