All byproducts of a litigation – happy environment we now live in. Investors lost 50% of their investment and are looking for compensation through the too-easily accessible court system. Class action lawsuits represent zero risk to the plaintiffs; all upside, zero downside. Lawyers will look for any errors made by management or mis-representation and hope to find an out of court settlement from a company with deep pockets. Whether the plaintiffs are successful and to what extent depends on evidence, quality of representation, jury selection etc. Anyone's guess at this point (OJ walked). It could be expensive if the the operational blunders committed everyday are any indication.
