"We" (including those awful "Moakies") have crafted increasingly clever scope language regarding RJs and furloughs. C96 had a worthless "no furlough" clause that only applied to pilots on the property the day of contract signing and permitted unlimited (!) RJs up to 70 seats. That wasn't the camel getting his nose under the tent. It was getting his entire body plus his entire extended family along with him. THAT was the scope fail of the last 20 years.

Even C2K had poor scope provisions, and as 1300 of our fellow pilots can attest, no furlough clauses aren't worth much.

But, post BK we have had much better language. Mgmt loves the extra 6 seats we allow. We realized that and crafted language that states, "you can furlough, but you must remove the extra six seats from every single 76-seater in the system, NOT subject to force majeure." That saves a lot of furloughs a few years ago. The language was and is very clever and forward thinking. But because the "Moakies" came up with it, no one here will ever acknowledge it.

Further, JVs and all those global issues are far more important now. I wish guys would get more spun up about that.
