Written letters, or phone call recordings that showed proof would absolutely get the ball rolling an a crooked and deceitful union if that were to be the case. And you may be blaming the pilots, but the less intelligent do all the time, not fulling understanding pilots can be oblivious when their MEC is secretive and possibly lying to them.
Yup, and years back eagle had to air some dirty laundry regarding some alcohol receipts for union "dinners". Someone had to spend hours tracking down the evidence. It's there. ALPA has to play ball. They really can't hide something permanently.
Unfortunately no one wants to be "that guy" and call anyone out on misconduct. It's understandable.
