instead of concentrating on burning the place to the ground, we need to channel efforts into getting released as soon as possible.
Man, you missed it by a country mile!
I said, "This is where we get into the debate about where the cycle begins and ends.
The "person in need" bought the lowest cost POS tickets she could, but, if you keep making the product look better than it really can be for the money spent by the customer, the company has NO reason to change, and you just got another responsibility added to the expectation of a pilot's job - FOR FREE.
The passengers jump at the lowest cost and management jumps at the biggest pile of money. If the passenger can get the same experience for $35 as they can for $45 they will, but guess who gets to use the $10 to compete with OALs and pad their bank accounts? If the passengers have to wait 10 minutes in a hot jetway for car seats maybe they'll look at the cost of saving $10 and book away next time.
The only thing management understands or cares about is money."
Read the last line again a few times. If you think this is being emotional you haven't seen anything yet.
Flyboyx,
I mentioned Lorenzo et al as an example of how nasty the process can get; not that we should be the ones who take it there. And I never suggested ANYTHING that could be construed as "burning the place to the ground".
You've been here just long enough to be off of probation (in your post #2203 on this thread you brag about having been hired April 6, 2015), but think you've got all the answers. I spent my first 10 of 16 years at F9 chasing strollers and cleaning planes while working for six different CEOs. I'm done with that chapter in my life. You're free to do everyone's job for them if you like, but my life at F9 has become a LOT easier since I focus on only doing my job, collecting my pay and going home.
Let the rampers do their thing. Let the FAs do their thing. Let management do their thing. If the only thing propping up the daily operation at F9 is having pilots go beyond their scope of work, you won't see your 2nd anniversary at F9.
Cliff's notes: Do your job, go home, get paid and let the NC deal with the 8-ball the RLA puts labor behind. The quicker we get in front of a mediator the quicker we get paid more.
