3 vacation weeks drop you to 62 hr guarantee
A sick call drops you to guarantee
A training event that is not worked on days off drops you to guarantee.

I know some people here dont like my data but its not a matter of opinion, its the embarrassing facts, on 6 year pay, a 767 capt who maximizes 3 vac weeks, conflicts training, and calls in sick once will be more in the $126,000 range.

I calculate this based on 6 months at guarantee and 6 at 78 hrs. I feel based on my experience here I am even being optimistic in my numbers but I am sure others are less motivated to conflict training etc. For me 17 days is enough. I am unwilling to do my training on days off and I take my vacation.
I can see how you came up with these numbers... maximizing use of sick time, don't work entire month your on vacation, use every bit or per diem when on the road, etc. But man you really must hate your job. YOU DO however illustrate an important point, the point being that if you really don't want to work and want to maximize your time at home Atlas is not good right now due to the terrible contract we are working under. If you however like to fly, enjoy your job, i.e. don't use 3 sick days every month, still work on months you take vacation, don't conflict bid training, you will make a lot more money than you illustrate.

Calling in 1 day sick does NOT drop you all the way down to 62 hour guarantee.

I think you are purposefully trying to show how horrible pay can be if you really, really work at not working. And by doing so you think you will somehow magically dry up the pool of pilots willing to come work here.

Here is a little news for you. Most of the readers of this board take what is written here with a grain of salt because they know there will be exaggerations like your posting. Plus smart guys may be thinking that due to the law of supply and demand, things will improve or the company will not make it. So yes things really suck here right now compared to everywhere else, but the question is will, and when will, we get a better contract.

So lets stick to the facts:

It is a HORRIBLE contract.

Besides pay, only 12 sick days a year and they are use or lose! And when you call in sick on the road those are days you don't get paid for!

62 hour guarantee if you end up working 12 days or less!

Sitting reserve for 16 hours! And say they call you out at 15:59 - You can work a normal duty day! Thats right!, 16 hours sitting reserve plus a 8 hour flight 2 man, 12 hour flight 3 man, etc.

Getting sent home early on a bid awarded line, and not being paid for your bid awarded line.

Getting pulled off a bid awarded line! Even if you bid awarded line has not changed! I got pulled off a HNL - SYD run last year and put on a LAX -ICN. The they put my bid awarded HNL-SYD line to open time bidders!

When the plane breaks, they will make you sit on the plane until you can not make it to your destination within duty day limits. I had one night where I sat on the aircraft for 10 hours while MX worked on it.

These are all facts for someone who loves flying airplanes and is not in the wrong profession.
