I'm not familiar enough with the aircraft in mention to know if one is "better" than the other. And since I would be commuting to either ORD or DFW it appears, would there be any advantage of one over the other?
Well, there isn't much of a difference pay wise since all the planes are on the same rate. If someone is looking at flying for a Middle East company then the 145 time doesn't count based on weight.
The CRJ isn't based in DFW. The 175 is only based in DFW. 145 is based both in DFW and ORD.
For a pilot getting hired right now I don't think there is going to be much difference in time spent on reserve. Some would disagree and they maybe right. Six months ago it was easy to predict the new hires weren't going to spend much time on reserve.
There are more 145s so there are more of a variety of trips than the CRJ and 175. All is subject to change at the flip of a coin though. Word is a HUGE announcement is coming out tomorrow.
Beyond that flying wise the 145 is just a much more relaxed and forgiving airplane than the CRJ. Not having flown the 175 all I can say is people really seem to like it.
