With the plan I'm touting. We kill 2 birds with one stone. We can all still retire at age 60 and less people will want to continue working past age 60. As, they wouldn't be gaining any more retirement benefits. I say we have a poll, on it.

At least, that's the way it should be until I retire at age 60. Then, you can all do whatever you want. Maybe, the retired military guys could work at Fedex for 25...Then, work for another retirement at UPS until they're age 90, or so.
I see your point. I'm all for it. However, I don't see it happening.

No question the company will want the increase in normal retirement age - big time. That will open the door to company-wide retirement age change.

You would think we might have some leverage on this during the next negotiations, since we will have to agree to the change (via vote).

Wait - maybe we don't. The latest ALPA messages seem to be "Well, you thought you had a legally binding contract, but guess again. You think our lawyers just fell off the turnip truck? They know how to create job security. We need to be at the table to get you gullible fools what you thought you already had."

Honestly, it seems the CBA is becoming about as toothless as the FCH was, if what ALPA says is correct, and a unilateral change to 65 for normal retirement age is possible.
