If they are looking for applicants, they might try the many thousands of resumes submitted to them by qualified pilots, many with multiple internal recommendations, CP LORs, etc. Maybe I'm being overly cynical, but neither DAL nor UAL need to "get the word out" on hiring- what does it benefit anyone to have some poor guy fly halfway across the country just for five minutes of face time with someone on the hiring team who tells them to "hang in there"?
I agree but this seems to be the trend for now. Maybe it's a way for them to weed out people without having to waste actual interview slots. Who knows the thinking behind it.
