If you want a single because you want "leisure time" or so you can be away from everyone you should expect to get a little ribbing for it.
Staying in a room with someone else doesn't make you "less professional".

Kids these days.......
Your arguments hold absolutely no water whatsoever.

1) It saves the company cash.
So what?!?! You know what would also save the company cash? Not paying for hotel rooms at all. Not paying a salary while in training. Would you support that too? Just because it "saves them cash"? How about double occupancy for all overnights for everybody your entire career at SKW? Following your logic, that should be OK too.
News Flash, Its the not pilots' responsibility to save the company money. I'm pretty sure SkyWest is now the ONLY regional left forcing grown adult professionals to bunk-up with complete strangers. This ain't college folks.

2) You don't need to share a bedroom and sleep 5 feet away from your classmate to be "close contact" to study. Seriously? That's just dumb. If you want a study partner, walk out of your room, and go knock on your neighbors door 10 feet away.

Staying in a room with someone else doesn't make you "less professional".
Yes, that's the exact message it sends. That you're not worth the $$, and the company is too cheap to treat you like an adult and provide you with your own room.
