TCM: Duchess XXX, transition approved midfield, traffic at your 2 o'clock, C-17.

C17: UUUUHHH, Tower, this BLackjack XXX, does that civilian know that they are transiting a military airfield and we are on final?

US: Oh, is that what this big strip of concrete is below us? Thanks for your help Blackjack...don't know what we would do without you.

Later after leaving the airspace we were told to call a number which turned out to be the tower boss. He said that was probably the funniest thing he had heard all day and that he was glad someone had shut that pilot up because he had been a jerk for most of his flight profile.
